Event Description: Join Iowa Safe Schools and One Iowa as we proudly march together in the 2026 Capital City Pride Parade!
We are uniting our communities to show up loud, proud, and strong. Whether you are a longtime supporter, a student, a family member, or an ally, we want YOU to walk with us as we celebrate LGBTQ+ pride and progress in Iowa.
Grab your favorite pride gear, bring your energy, and let’s make this the biggest, most vibrant march yet!
Date: Sunday, June 14th, 2026
Time: Staging/Arrival Time: 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM (Please arrive by 11:30 AM at the absolute latest so we can get lined up!) Parade Start: 12:00 PM (Noon) sharp!
Location & Route: Staging Area: Capitol Lot 16 (located at 14th and Des Moines Street, Des Moines, IA 50309)
Parade Route: We will exit Lot 16 and march down Grand Avenue right into the heart of the East Village!

To ensure a safe, fun, and family-friendly experience for everyone, Capital City Pride has strict guidelines all marchers must follow:
Weather: The parade is rain or shine! If there is severe weather (lightning/storms), it may be delayed or canceled for safety.
No Glitter, Confetti, or Strobes: The city imposes heavy cleanup fees for glitter/confetti, and strobe lights are banned for accessibility and safety.
Attire & Signage: This is an all-ages, family-friendly event. Outfits, banners, and signs must comply with this rule.
