General Note - County Conventions by majority vote of the accredited delegates shall:

Public School Strong Strategy Session (Virtual via Zoom) - Event by Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement
Event Description: Public School Strong Strategy Session - In the last 10 years, the Iowa Governor and State Legislature have underfunded our schools by passing a paltry state supplemental aid rate (SSA) of just 2% on average, not enough to keep up with inflation. They are asking our schools to do more and more with less and less and we are at a breaking point.
Imagine if we had 100 districts pass our Public School Strong Resolution to help set the stage for the November elections and 2027 legislative session?

This also means all bills have to pass out of one committee in the House or Senate side to stay alive for the rest of the session, with the exception of tax bills which are exempt from funnel. Many bills will quietly die in committee, however, some come back as a zombie amendment to a bill late in the session.

UPDATE - BIG NEWS: This morning’s subcommittee hearing for HF 2332, the total abortion ban, has been canceled. Because of this change, we will not be gathering for a Pink Out at the Capitol today.
We had an overwhelming number of you commit to showing up today. Of the 259 comments submitted online ahead of the subcommittee hearing, 255 opposed the bill.
You all reminded politicians that we will not be silenced. We are beyond grateful for the power of this community.

2026 Dallas County Democratic Caucus Night
EVENT DESCRIPTION: Join us for the Monday, February 2 Dallas County Democratic Caucuses. Together we can make 2026 the year Iowans had their voice heard!
On the evening of February 2 at 7:00 p.m., Democrats across Iowa will come together in their communities for the 2026 Iowa Democratic Party Caucuses. Caucuses are not only about picking presidential nominees, it is how your voice can make a difference in the direction of our party. You can find your caucus location below.
All registered Democrats are encouraged to participate, and we also welcome No Party and Republican voters who would like to change their registration and take part that night.
Why Caucus?
For starters, caucus night is a great reminder that you’re not alone. You’ll meet fellow Democrats from your Dallas County; people you may see regularly but never realized shared your values. Especially in today’s political climate, it matters to know that Democrats are present and engaged in Dallas County.Your participation is also critical to strengthening our party as we head into the 2026 general election. This election cycle carries enormous stakes, even though it is not a presidential year. Iowa Democrats have real opportunities to win key statewide and federal offices, including open races for Governor and U.S. Senate and a chance to flip a U.S. House Seat. With a strong turnout, there is no reason that Dallas County should not be blue this fall.

There are 46 precincts in Dallas County starting in 2022 and we strive to have at least two Central Committee members from each precinct (92). We’re always looking for individuals to volunteer a small amount of time each month and a little more around the caucus and convention time of year (every even year 1st quarter).
